"During the day that Honolulu unveiled the Duke Kahanamoku statue, a group of men who , as young boys, were tutored by modern Hawaiʻi’s most famous ambassador, posed for the local newspaper. I squeezed in between the photo-journalists to capture the moment. Photography is history. All these men were important to Hawaiʻi and a link to the 'Duke,'" shares Cathy. 1999

While walking at her son's home in Keokaha, an early morning Hilo rain provided moisture for an indigenous, scarce, white Hawaiian hibiscus. The rain drops were beautiful.

This image of a TV screen, taken in 1977, became more poignant as the years progressed. At the time, she didn't realize the historical significance related to her art. This conception is now an eternal symbol of Cathy passion.
