Thanksgiving Gratitude
It's been a minute (sometimes life gets in the way of art) but as we head toward my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, you need to know how thankful I am for you and your appreciation of Hawaii and Hawaii's master artists.
To that end, I have three wonderful new artists to share with you! Introducing Julie Houck, Tracy Dudley, and Shun Tsukazaki.
Julie's work called to me with the ethereal feeling she creates using layers and layers of thin, translucent oil paint to capture light so dramatically. They transport you. Plus, she creates wonderful abstracts, too.
Tracy's life on the water is documented in her incredible works. They have an abstract quality, yet fully feel like water, and I love her mastery of color and light.
Shun's mastery of form spoke my language. He creates a wide range of works from larger scale outdoor sculptures to wall hangings and I love the tactile feel of his raku-fired ceramics.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving making special memories with family and friends. I look forward to seeing you again when the time is right.
