The painting includes the artist's repeating image and a Hawaiian Canavalia flower stitched in silk and abstracted into a circular pattern against a backdrop of a pearl inlaid wooden saddle (from the southern Philippines in the Honolulu Museum of Art collection) in silhouette which likewise spirals. The Pacific Islands latitudes and longitudes are printed backwards, forwards, and vertically.
