Water Falling by Carol Bennett
Amber tinted shellac, acrylic & oil on wood panel
96" h x 72" w x 4" d
"The WATER FALLING piece I’m offering is the culmination my 3 big ahupua'a public art commissions~ Honolulu Airport consolidated parking facility, Pearl Harbor HART pedestrian Bridge and of course the 30 foot A’allii for Howard Hughes," shares Carol Bennett.
"I’m fascinated by biomimicry~ how things in nature are like other things in nature, wood grain flows like water. When addressing the ahupuaa, (from the mountains to the sea), the waterfalls are always the main dynamic as they marry the sky to the ocean.
I think this pieces is majestic, powerful and beautiful. It has lots of process and texture with roller marks, huge gestural paint strokes and tiny paint splatters and gravitational drips."
