Where Yellow Birds Fly Across Pink Skies by Katherine Kean
Oil on linen - triptych
20" h x 60" w (3 - 20" x 20" panels)
In this colorful, imaginary landscape, diminutive saffron
finches fly through the yellow leaves and graceful branches of a tropical Bacarubu tree. The light of the evening sun reflects atmospheric particles, while the liquidity of humid skies block bright red and orange light, resulting in a vivid pink sunset. A volcano quietly vents in the distance, a reminder of nature's power.
This original oil painting is a triptych. Each section is 20 x 20 inches.
All three sections together are 20 x 60 inches. Painted on gallery wrapped linen, with 1 1/2 inch deep stretchers, it is wired with finger friendly, coated wire for easy installation. The edges are hand painted, providing a finished look, suitable for framing, or beautiful left as is.
Located on the 5th floor, north hall at the Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort.
